I'm so happy you're here. This is Yuzu Marché's very first blog post, and I'm excited to share a little piece of Japan with you.
I started Yuzu Marché because I wanted to make it easier for people to discover authentic Japanese products while also sharing the stories, traditions, and everyday knowledge behind them. As someone who was born and raised in Japan before moving to the United States, I've experienced both cultures firsthand. That perspective inspired me to create Yuzu Marché—not only to bring authentic Japanese products to the U.S., but also to share the stories and traditions that make them meaningful.
One thing I've noticed is that there are so many products in the U.S. marketed as "Japanese-inspired" or "Japanese-style." While many are beautiful in their own right, it isn't always clear whether they're actually made in Japan or represent authentic Japanese craftsmanship and culture. Sometimes products are inspired by Japan but aren't labeled clearly, making it difficult to know what you're really buying.
That's where I hope to help.
My goal is to help you discover products that Japanese people genuinely use, love, and are proud of. Every recommendation I share is carefully selected with authenticity in mind. Beyond introducing these products, I also want to share the traditions, history, and cultural context behind them so you can appreciate not just what you're buying, but why it matters.
I'm also passionate about making sure Japanese culture is represented accurately and respectfully. Through this blog, I'll share authentic Japanese perspectives, practical tips, buying guides, and everyday insights to help you confidently choose products that truly reflect Japan—not just an interpretation of it.
